Rollers, a Brief History or time

This YBC started in 199? after having split from another local YBC. For many years we were part of Milton Keynes YBC at superbowl (now megabowl). Fortunately for us, a few changes happened in the management set up and most of the older ones (and some of the younger ones) left to start up a new club at a small but promising new center above the skating rink at rollers. Nothing much has been heard of the YBC at superbowl (or megabowl) in Milton Keynes, but take a look below to see what we have managed to achieve over the last few years. The 12 lanes at rollers have had there own ups and downs over the years as well. It was originally called the rollers lanes, but in 1998 another firm took it over. Unfortunately, the state of the lanes has declined recently, but with a good technician having just left, and a new set of technicians just coming in, it looks set to become better and better.

What is left to come, the brief History will no doubt have more added onto it in the years to come.

Rollers YBC, A successful bowling club

As a club, we bowl, and have bowled, many competitions and events. In the early years, we bowled a competition called the JST, which is a team event, but the fact that some of our female bowlers became to old and had to leave, left us with a shortage of female bowlers who were old enough and ready to bowl in such a tournament, but that my soon change as our younger ones grow up.

Our greatest achievements have come in the shape of two female bowlers. Ann Smith and Vicky Hawes have bother represented Junior Team England. Over the last 4 years, we've had an England bowler from this club.

At last years county roll off's, we had 5 bowlers in the county teams. Stephen White won the county roll off's to become Bucks country champion for 1999-2000. The county's are coming up again and we hope to do it again.

The Leagues, how they work

We run 3 leagues. A doubles, Division 1 singles and Division 2 singles. They are played in the usual way with one player against another. Each match is played over 3 games. Each game can give you 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 if you loose. The number of points decide where you are in the league.
